Sunday 8 December 2024 – Morin Heights 10 AM
Dennis has contacted the good folks in Morin Heights and they are claiming they will be up and running for the season this Saturday. So, Sunday the aerobic corridor is our destination. Both Dennis and Jeff plan to be there.
The planned meeting place will be at the corridor’s start (the old train station) 50 chemin du lac Echo (J0R 1H0). The cost is $18 dollars for skiers and $10 for snowshoers (if you are over 65 years of age it is $15 for skiing and $7 for snowshoeing). If you are interested in skiing, please confirm your attendance before 3 PM Saturday afternoon by replying to this email btnscmailing@gmail.com.
If you are interested in joining the snowshoeing folk, please email Karen to confirm your attendance. She needs at least 3 people to confirm the outing.
Please note that up the hill from the starting point, Chalet Bellevue, which is an overflow parking lot and where we typically meet for the ski clinic, there will be a Christmas market. No ski or snowshoe rentals are available but you can do some Christmas shopping.
Sunday 1 December 2024 – Parc Nature du Bois de Liesse 10 AM
We meet at the Chalet d’accueil des champs. There are 2 entrances to this park so be careful to pick the right one: Chalet d’accueil des Champs, 3555 rue Douglas-B.-Floreani, Saint-Laurent, H4S 1Y6. This is the exit closest to the Highway 40 exit for Henri Bourassa (the other entrance to the park is off Gouin blvd.).
This is a Montreal Grand Parc so if you don’t have a season’s parking permit you can pay at the meter ($8.20 for 2 hours or $10.40 for the day). Please arrive early enough to sort out the parking. Their machines require you to enter your license plate so take a note of it before you get to the machine. The washrooms should be open. This will be a shorter walk, a 7-8 km loop and should take us less than 2 hours.
You know the routine by now: please confirm your attendance before 3 PM Saturday afternoon by replying to this email btnscmailing@gmail.com.
Sunday 24 November 2024 – Mont Royal 10:00 AM
We will meet at the Beaver Lake chalet. You need to pay for parking so allow for sufficient time to find and figure out the parking meter.
This walk typically can take up to 2 hours to do (counting washroom breaks and rest breaks after climbing the stairs!).
As usual, please confirm your attendance by 3 PM Saturday by replying to btnsc2018@gmail.com

Sunday 17 November 2024: Mont Rigaud 10:00 AM
We are going to Rigaud and plan to do the l’Escapade trail. It is approximately 13 km so, as usual, bring sturdy walking shoes and snacks.
The meeting place is : Stationnement P8, Sentiers de L’escapade.
300 Chemin Saint Georges, Rigaud.
It is also the Sucrerie de la Montagne’s parking lot.
Click here for a map of the trail.
Sunday 10 November 2024: Parc Mont St. Bruno 10:00 AM
The address for the park is: 330 Rang des 25 Est, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, QC J3V 4P6. Mont St. Bruno is part of SEPAQ and as such there is a website you can visit for more information: information: https://www.sepaq.com/pq/msb/
The site recommends you obtain your droit d’accès, which is $9.85 per person, in advance to avoid delays at the guichet. The park can get busy so please give yourself enough time to find parking and use the facilities. I would still recommend avoiding the Louis Hippolyte Lafontaine tunnel unless you enjoy being in traffic. Last year, when we went, our hike was 11 km long. You don’t need hiking boots for this walk but sturdy shoes are still recommended.
Afterwards, depending on the time, some walkers head to the Salon de thé Le Vieux Moulin for some great coffee or tea.
Hikes take place on Sundays at 10am
Once the ski season starts, there are outings on Saturdays at CSJ (Cap St Jacques) and on Sundays at the ski destination of the week. We always hit the trails at 10am
Due to unpredictable conditions it is not practical to set destinations in advance. Destinations will be determined a week in advance of the outing.
Members should refer to our weekly updates (sent out via e-mail) for the week’s definitive schedule of upcoming ski or hiking outings. Last minute updates will be posted on our Facebook page, which also appears on the web site.
Greetings everyone,No snow is forecast for this Sunday so we will continue our walks
