Wednesday March 13 Mount Royal

On Wed evening, 13 of us assembled at Mount Royal:  10 skiers, 2 walkers, and 1 ice-skater/snow-shoer.  The trails had been tracked and were in great shape.  The temp was about -3 C so most of went with the violet wax.  It was yet another great evening of skiing at Mount Royal.  It has been a pretty good winter for skiing at the mountain, based on the number of times we have been able to get out there.  Afterward, fully 10 of the 13 of us made our way downtown to the Upstairs jazz resto-bar for a night cap of fine music and good food.

We all knew that the rain was going to start falling that night so we were all conscious that this might be our last time out, although you just never know.  But the city did say on Thu that with the rain, they have decided that the skating rink at Beaver Lake (both the natural frozen and refrigerated parts) is now closed for the season.
